Naturally, questions and concerns arise when it’s found a water source is being affected by a Harmful Algal Bloom. Addressing such concerns, TriCounty Health shared on Wednesday that although Starvation Reservoir is being affected by an algal bloom, the water coming from the reservoir through the water treatment plant is fine to drink. “Water treatment plants are well equipped to handle Harmful Algal Blooms that form on reservoirs,” shares TriCounty Health. More information from TriCounty Health regarding the algal bloom will be shared when available. For those that have also wondered if the Family Fun Day scheduled for this Saturday at Starvation is still happening, the answer is yes. The Chamber confirms that there will be activities and fun to be had even if they cannot hold the water activities. Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 7th, starts at 10am.
