Students from Con Amore School were able to participate recently in the Exceptional Rodeo, an event in its fifth year that provides an opportunity for children with disabilities to participate in rodeo events and games. Con Amore School (which is Italian for “With Love”) specializes in providing education for students with disabilities. Delsco Northwest sponsored the rodeo with Chad Richard donating his A & C Racing and Roping Arena to hold the event in. The students had a blast trying barrel racing on stick horses, teaching roping on a steer head, riding in a carriage pulled by Clydesdale horses and grooming/petting horses, shares the Duchesne County School District. For many of the students, the highlight was riding on the back of a horse, led by a volunteer. Huge smiles and exclamations of “Yee-Haw” definitely were hints of enjoyment. After doing the activities the students watched from hay bales as cowboys competed in bulldogging and team roping.
