Love and support of a Roosevelt man and his family comes with its own brand known as Braxten Tough. Even before his accident early this month, Braxten Nielsen could easily own the brand of Braxten Tough as a serious athlete and college rodeo star. The brand means even more now after Braxten sustained a serious injury while competing for the College of Southern Idaho during a PRCA rodeo. According to the Go Fund Me page setup to support him, Braxton’s horse reared up and smashed him against the shoot, compressing and twisting his spinal cord. He was flown to University of Utah hospital and after surgery it was determined he is paralyzed from the waist down. As Braxten has remained tough and been working hard every day since the accident, members of the community have taken an active role to raise funds for his recovery and show their love using the tag line Braxten Tough to represent their support. Hats and t-shirts are being worn around the community with the Braxten Tough brand. Fundraisers and shows of support are abundant including at Duchesne County high school sporting events. An upcoming benefit dinner and auction for the Braxten Tough cause is coming up on October 2nd at 5:30pm at the Grace Event Center in Roosevelt. In the family’s latest update, Braxten’s parents expressed their great appreciation and love for all those offering their support.
