A Colorado woman is facing charges after making serious threats to a Uintah Basin community. On January 7th, law enforcement responded to a call of threat of violence in the Neola area after a family member of a local resident threatened to drive her vehicle into a local church building in the Neola area. Text messages spelled out the threats with 45-year-old Amber Dawn Olsen stating that she was going to drive her car from Colorado and crash it into the church with the intent to “kill everyone there”. She also claimed she had a gun and she was going to use it at the church. Investigators found that Olsen had multiple assault charges as well as harassment and reckless endangerment charges on her record. Agencies throughout Duchesne and Uintah Counties were alerted to watch for Olsen’s vehicle and officers were posted by the Neola church during worship services. The Sheriff’s Office in Colorado where she lived were able to locate Olsen and confirm she had not left the state. She faces charges including Felony Threat of Terrorism, Threat of Violence, and Electronic Communication Harassment.
