Closures placed on several areas at and around Flaming Gorge Reservoir have been lifted. Ashley National Forest announced on Wednesday that State Line Cove, Linwood Bay Dispersed Area and Swim Beach at Flaming Gorge Reservoir east of Manila are open again for public use. The closure began on April 9th due to increased use within the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area in Daggett County. District Ranger Curt Booher shared at the time that the increased use was posing a challenge for COVID-19 response and the health and safety of not only the public but also Forest Service and local law enforcement personnel. With the closures lifted Ashley National Forest still reminds all visitors that they need to continue to follow social distancing guidelines as well as state and local directives and orders.
