The Duchesne County Republican Convention was held on Tuesday and delegate votes determined who the Republican nominee is for Duchesne County Commission Seat C. There were 97 out of 101 total delegates in attendance who participated in voting during the event. Vaughan Lichfield and Bryan Winterton were eliminated in the 1st round of voting. Clel Robinson was eliminated in the 2nd round and Tracy W. Ross was eliminated in the 3rd round. The final round was between Jeffrey Brent Chugg and Shelby John Thayne. Chugg received 71 percent of the vote in the 4th round making him the Republican Party nominee for Duchesne County Commission Seat C. The names of the other candidates for Commission can still appear on the Primary ballot if they have gathered enough signatures but Chugg has the official support of the Duchesne County Republican Party.
