Duchesne County has updated their spring burn dates. The spring burn window opened on April 1st and now closes on May 1st. Here’s some things to remember: No household garbage can be burned and burn barrels are illegal. Outdoor refuse should be in a clean area and away from any structures or trees that may catch fire. The burn area should not be under or near any power poles, power lines, or any other utility service. Always have a good water source available while burning. Watch and tend to the fire at all times. Keep your burn piles to a manageable size. Burn as early as possible in the day and avoid burning in windy conditions. All fires must be out by dusk. Property owners will be liable if the fire manages to escape the controlled area. And remember, ALL burns must be reported to Central Dispatch BEFORE you burn.
