While accounts of what lead to the death of a Uintah County man on April 13th are circulating, the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office has made it clear that the investigation is ongoing and the cause of death is still undetermined. On Wednesday, Sheriff Vance Norton stated that the Sheriff’s Office is still waiting for the medical examiner to give a ruling of cause of death. Once the Sheriff’s Office has the information from the medical examiner there will be a screening with the County Attorney and then another press release will be distributed to the public. On April 13th, the Sheriff’s Office released information that an altercation between two men resulted in a death. The altercation took place at a residence near Pelican Lake and the argument occurred between a 67-year-old man who lived at a residence located near 16000 East 4500 South and a 46-year-old man living on the property. The argument turned physical, shared the Sheriff’s Office, resulting in the death of the 67-year-old man.
