UBOC Practice Underway
The dedicated members of the Uintah Basin Orchestra and Chorus spent their day Saturday in preparation for their next concert event. This year’s Christmas concerts on December 3rd will be a delight with dancers, the Children’s Choir and special surprises including a Home Alone medley! Photographer Brent Haddock captures the Supermoon Monday night bewitching eastern Utah. The Supermoon experienced on Monday night was the closest the full moon has been to the earth since January 26th, 1948.
Vernal Theatre: Live Auditions
Vernal Theatre: Live has made yet another exciting announcement. Auditions are approaching for their first 2017 show Charley’s Aunt; a hilarious comedy that will run from January 13th through the 21st. Auditions are being held December 7th and 8th. Jensen Pumpkin Festival Recognized
The hard working folks that put on the annual Jensen Pumpkin Festival were recognized Tuesday during the Vernal Chamber luncheon. The group was given a Certificate of Appreciation for putting on the community loved free event each year.
Rehearsal 2 days Before UBOC Concert Event
Dr. Maiello arrived in Vernal Thursday and got right to work that night with the first rehearsal that combined not only the orchestra and chorus but the dancers from Studio R as well! Choir member Shanna Wheeler was sure to take some pictures to remember the night full of anticipation and excitement for Saturday’s concerts.
Sub for Santa Donations
Naples City Fire Department volunteers including Fred Reynolds and Craig Smith accepting Sub for Santa donations at Davis Food and Drug Wednesday. Volunteers will also be accepting donations at the Holly Day’s light parade Friday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m. main street Vernal. Last year Naples Fire volunteers helped over 20 local families during the Christmas season.
Holly Days
This year’s Holly Days was a huge success. Over 11,000 people attended from across the western United States. Holly Days is held every year on the day after Thanksgiving. This was the event’s 13th year.
Christmas Carol Rehearsals
The cast and crew of A Christmas Carol at Vernal Theatre:LIVE have been busy with costuming, sets and rehearsals and the show is coming together beautifully. With only three shows on December 16th and 17th, anyone wanting to experience a musical journey through Past, Present, and Future with Ebenezer Scrooge had better get their tickets soon! Musical scores for the show are from Alan Menken, the man behind the music of Disney Classics, and Lynn Ahrens, well known as a lyricist and composer in musical theatre and television.
