Deepwater Horizon survivor/hero Mike Williams was the keynote speaker during the Uintah Basin Energy Summit luncheon Thursday. Williams shared with attendees facts pertaining to the incident while stressing workplace safety. The April 2010 off shore rig explosion killed 11 people and injured 17 and is considered one of the largest marine oil spills in the history of the petroleum industry.

12U Baseball Team Fundraiser
A group of little baseball stars with big league dreams are working hard to make their dreams a reality. The 12U Uintah Baseball team has hopes of playing in a weeklong tournament in Cooperstown, New York and the group of go-getters has put together a fundraiser to see their dream become a reality. The dinner/auction event is being held on August 25th at the Western Park. Auction items include Diamond Mountain deer and elk tags, a 7mm rifle, quilts, a fishing trip and more hot items. Doors open at 6:00 with dinner starting at 7:00pm.
Murray Family Completes Passport to Summer in a Unique Way
The family of Bart and Kelly Murray including their children “The Murray Boys” completed the a Passport to Summer entry in a unique way Monday. These creative young men converted their KLCY sponsored lemonade stand to a root beer stand! As prominently stated on a sign proudly posted above their stand, “We Loveour Town!”
