A Carbon County lawyer announced his 2026 bid for Utah’s 3rd Congressional District race during the Carbon County Democratic Party annual convention on Saturday. Nathaniel Woodward has been serving as the party chair but announced that he will step down in order to focus on the race for the Congressional seat. Castle Country Radio KOAL reported on the announcement, sharing that Woodward was born and raised in Carbon County and most recently was the advocate behind the passage of HB127, Ashley’s Law. The last time a member of the Democratic Party represented Utah in Congress was 2021. This is Woodward’s second time running for a Congressional seat having first run in 2024 in Utah’s 2nd District.
