If you’re planning to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday, you’re not alone. AAA predicts that you’ll be among 54.3 million Americans who will travel 50 or more miles from home to celebrate Thanksgiving. That is a 4.8 percent increase over 2017 and the highest travel volume since 2005. The increase is credited to higher wages, more disposable income, and rising household wealth. AAA also predicts that travel times will be increased. Local Utah Highway Patrol is ready for the busy holiday. According to Sgt. Kellie Oaks, local troopers will be out doing speed, DUI, and seat belt enforcement shifts. UHP also hopes all enjoy safe travels and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
