Uintah County’s investment in Buckskin Hills is drawing visitors to the area from far and wide. Madi Maynard with Uintah County Travel and Tourism presented at the Vernal Chamber luncheon sharing that the Basin Bash Drag Race at the Dragway welcomed 286 entries from 9 different states. One racer came all the way from Alaska, picking up his car in Las Vegas and traveling to Vernal to race. The Speedway is also drawing a variety of participants. Opening weekend welcomed 70 entries each day from 5 different states. The Shooting Range hosted the 34th annual Josie Shoot this month with 70 shooters, almost double from last year. The first Wild Bunch shoot was also held and had 40 participants. The events hosted at Buckskin Hills draw people to the area, filling up hotels and restaurants and as a result, create a positive economic impact.
