Brent Douglas Manwaring, 46, of Vernal, Utah, passed away on June 21, 2019, peacefully at his home in Vernal.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019, at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West, Vernal, UT 84078). A second viewing will be held Saturday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Glines Stake Center 78 South Aggie Blvd. Burial will follow at the Vernal City Cemetery (1700 South 500 East).
Brent was born in Vernal, Utah to Verdon Manwaring and Rea Pope Manwaring on October 2, 1972. He married Meredith Middleton on July 18, 1998, in Vernal, Utah. Brent is preceded in death by his mother, Rea, sister, Twilla Manwaring Hedges, grandparents, Ashel and Elva Manwaring, and Wells and Sheila Pope. Also his favorite fur baby Kana.
Brent is survived by his wife, Meredith, his sons, Ethan and Isaac, his fur-babies, Cooper, Ellie, and Ruka, his Parents, Verdon and Marilyn Manwaring; brothers, Kevin (Cleo), David (Kristie), Eric (Joanne), Chris (Pauline), Spencer (Annie), and Steven (Tiffany) Manwaring; sisters, Janice (Richard) Brady, Arlene (Darwin) Evans, Sherry (Ty) Corbridge, and Katie Manwaring Hill; in-laws, Val and Peggy Middleton; brother-in-law, Michael (Katie, my lady) Middleton; sisters-in-law, Amy (Ray aka Bruce) Squier, and Jill (Kelly aka Gaylord) Jensen; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers and friends.
Brent graduated at Uintah High School in 1991 and then furthered his career by becoming a Journeyman plumber while he and Meredith lived in Elko, NV. He has worked as an engineer at Ashley Regional Medical Center for the last 11 years. Brent was very dedicated to his job and had made plans to return to work just one week before his passing. He was the favorite at Ashley Regional (his words not ours) and had many close relationships with all of his coworkers. Brent was also a super fan of anything to do with history. He loved watching and discussing anything related to mysteries of the unknown, our country, and church history. He talked about how once he left this earth, although devastated to leave us, he was really excited to finally meet his mom Rea and Abraham Lincoln. Also, he couldn’t wait to find out the truth about extraterrestrials.
At a young age of 5, Brent was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Over 41 years we roughly figured he checked his blood sugar at least 117,000 times and gave himself over 64,000 shots. If he ever wronged anyone or acted inappropriately….conveniently, “his blood sugar was low”. The one challenge he was unable to overcome was cancer. Although he experienced many medical problems throughout his life, his blessings more than made up for it. Meeting and winning the hand of the elusive and charming Meredith Middleton (aka mamma and consequently the author of this obituary) he was able to achieve his dream of a happy family and spent 23 years of laughter and unforgettable moments with his best friend. Brent’s proudest accomplishment and his legacy live on through his twin sons, Ethan and Isaac. Brent’s fierce love and dedication to his boys is evident in the polite, hardworking and honest young men that were always and will be forever at his side.
We want to thank all of our family, friends, and community for the outpouring of love and support we have received this past year. Brent’s journey has been full of blessings, friendship, support, and love. We truly could not have done it without all of you.
