The body of a missing Millcreek man was recovered on Saturday morning from the Lake Canyon area of Duchesne County. According to a press release from the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office received a report late Thursday night that Robert “Austin” Harker of Millcreek had failed to return home from a planned fly-fishing trip. Wasatch County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue started the search for Harker with help from the Department of Public Safety and Utah National Guard helicopter crews. On Friday, a citizen tip led searchers to Harker’s pickup truck in the Lake Canyon area of Duchesne County. Crews from Duchesne and Wasatch Counties were joined by the helicopter crews and Great Basin K-9 Search and Rescue on Saturday morning. Search and rescue members flying in the National Guard helicopter located Harker’s body at about 11:15am. According to the press release, there was no evidence of foul play and the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death. Evans Family Media joins the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office in offering condolences to the Harker and Cowart families. All are asked to respect the family’s request for privacy at this difficult time.
