Spring runoff can increase the danger on and around rivers and this year that is especially the case. A tragic loss occurred on the Colorado River in western Colorado over the weekend. First responders were called to the Colorado River between the cities of Burns and McCoy on report of a minor having been separated from a family member when their boat capsized. “The call was received around 11am and a full rescue operation was immediately deployed,” shares the announcement. “In a cooperative effort, responders were able to recover a minor from the river who was not responsive to CPR efforts. The minor was wearing a personal flotation device.” Evans Family Media extends condolences to the family and friends mourning this tragic loss at this time.
