Bluebell Corn Maze ‘Lose Yourself Fun Run’ This Saturday

Appropriately it is called the “Lose Yourself Fun Run” and this year it will benefit Amber Olsen who is battling brain cancer. Amber is a mother of five children, ages 4 to 14. Her struggle started with a severe headache on June 3rd and took a turn for the worst when on June 8th she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Emergency surgery took place on June 9th to remove a stage 4 glioblastoma brain tumor in which they removed 2/3 of Amber’s left frontal lobe. In hopes to help Amber have vital areas of the brain, doctors were not able to remove all of the tumor. Once recovered from brain surgery she had to undergo a six week regimen of radiation and chemotherapy treatment in an effort to shrink the remaining tumor. She will likely follow a regimen of chemotherapy for the rest of her life. Please come support Amber by running (or walking) the 5k or 1 mile course on Saturday, September 21st, at the Bluebell Corn Maze. This is a fun run so there will be no posted time or awards but each registrant will receive a ticket for a prize drawing. Registration starts at 9:30 and the pumpkin cannon to start both races goes off at 10:30am.
