BLM Seeking Public Comment For Reopening Taylor Flat Airstrip

by | Mar 4, 2025 | News | 0 comments

The Bureau of Land Management’s Vernal Field Office opened a 30-day public scoping period on Monday to receive public input on a proposal to re-open a portion of the Taylor Flat Airstrip. “The Taylor Flat Airstrip was originally constructed in the 1960s and reclaimed in the 1990s,” shares the BLM. “Daggett County has requested a right-of-way for a portion of the access road and airstrip that lies outside the Green River Wild and Scenic River corridor and the Browns Park ACEC. The proposal would allow public aviation use of the dirt airstrip.” The BLM uses public scoping to identify potential issues and concerns related to the proposal and will consider potential environmental and resource impacts before making a decision. Maps, project details, and instructions on how to submit comments are available on the BLM National NEPA Register at eplanning.blm.gov. The 30-day comment period ends April 3rd.
