Beekeeping Class at Library for All Experience Levels

Beekeeping has become a growing hobby for many Uintah Basin residents and there is a great resource at the library for all experience levels. Bee hobbyist Justin Mills heads up a beekeeping club, the Uintah Beekeepers, that meet the first Tuesday of every month at the Uintah County Library. Mills says it was difficult for him when he was first learning to keep bees. “I would have loved a local resource to help me through those first few years,” shares Mills. “There is a lot more to keeping bees than people realize.” Mills often says keeping bees is like getting a puppy. You can’t expect it to become a healthy 25 pound dog without “caring for it, feeding it, and watering it. It is the same with bees.” Mills passion for bees is fueled by his great respect for what they do. “Without bees, life as we know it would not exist,” he says. All are welcome to come learn at the class the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm at the Uintah County Library. There is a $25 annual fee for the Uintah Beekeepers club for those who want to be involved beyond the library class. For more information, email Justin Mills at jmillsep@gmail.com
