Avalanche Danger In Uintas Still Classified As ‘Considerable’

by | Feb 18, 2025 | News | 0 comments

High avalanche danger was reported across Utah over the weekend with warnings in effect on most Utah mountain ranges. Heavy snow and wind drifting were listed as having created instability across all elevations and those in the backcountry were instructed to avoid terrain on or under slopes greater than 30 degrees. The warning from the Utah Avalanche Center was in place until 6am on Monday. Now the Utah Avalanche Center ratings show No Rating for each area on the map with the exception of the Uintas which reflect a rating of ‘Considerable’ risk of avalanche.
