A report of the investigation into allegations of racism and misconduct that took place during Tabiona High School sporting events has been released by the Duchesne County School District Board of Education. According to the report, the Board of Education retained Ostler Moss & Thompson Attorneys and Counselors at Law, based out of Salt Lake City, to conduct a “neutral and independent” review of the events in question. Tabiona High School began making headlines after a complaint was made by an individual affiliated with Intermountain Christian School outlining a variety of alleged misconduct taking place primarily during boys basketball games from January 19th, 2018 through February 15th, 2019. The report is 8 pages long but Attorney Blake T. Ostler provided the following statement as the primary paragraph in the Conclusion of the report: “The fact that events alleged in the complaint by ICS (Intermountain Christian School) at the February 15th, 2019 game that we could verify by video were so different from those that actually occurred raised suspicions as to the accuracy of the remaining assertions made in the complaint. However, we were able to verify that racial slurs were yelled at the ICS coach on at least one occasion and probably also at Manila basketball players. We did not rely on the complaint for any fact, but we were able to interview witnesses and watch videos that allowed us to make these conclusions with certitude.”
