Thankfully, the rate of COVID-19 is headed in the right direction but that doesn’t mean it’s time to abandon caution. Ashley Regional Medical Center reports that they are still seeing many sick individuals coming into the hospital. The hospital’s latest data shows that of the 20 hospitalized COVID-19 patients, 90 percent are unvaccinated. Their message is clear: “Please continue to do what you can to prevent the spread of (any) illness by staying home if you are sick, hand washing/[using]sanitizer, wearing masks in public spaces that you’re unable to social distance, and if you haven’t gotten vaccinated please consider doing so (for flu and COVID).” They also expressed appreciation for all the efforts from community members in helping make the community healthier.
