While the valleys in eastern Utah have experienced a relatively mild winter, the mountains have experienced a healthy winter of gathering snowpack. Exploring this good news, Ashley National Forest shared on Friday that “despite springlike conditions in many places of the Uinta Basin, the mountains on the Ashley National Forest still have a lot of snow. While snowpack is not as much as in 2023, most mountain areas are still slightly above normal for this time of year.” Ashley National Forest shared pictures to their Facebook page that shows the difference between last year, with over 200% snowpack, and this year, with approximately 110% snowpack.
