Ashley National Forest continues to remind the public that there is in fact a stay limit for dispersed camping meaning it is not okay to park your camper in a favorite camping spot for the duration of the summer season. “The Forest continues to see increasing numbers of people enjoying the outdoors by dispersed camping,” shares this week’s announcement. “This trend creates the need to enforce stay limits as many campers are occupying sites and leaving campers unattended, depriving others of popular locations. The Ashley National Forest currently allows the longest stay limit for dispersed camping within the state of Utah at 16 days in one location. Following 16 days, campers are asked to move a minimum of five road miles to allow others to use popular locations and not return to the original site for 30 days.” The Ashley National Forest Order is available for review at fs.usda.gov Help provide dispersed camping opportunities for everyone by only occupying dispersed campsites when you can be present to enjoy them and not leave your trailer unattended.
