The rifle elk hunt opens this weekend meaning the busy hunt season is beginning in the great outdoors. Before hunters arrive, Ashley National Forest is reminding all to be sure to pack out all trash and help maintain the mountains.
“The use of motorized vehicles off of designated routes for the retrieval of big game is not allowed on the Ashley National Forest,” shares the announcement. “Please be prepared to quarter and pack out your animals. All electric bikes are considered motorized vehicles and are allowed on the routes open to motorized vehicles only.”
Another reminder is to please tell somewhere where you are going and when you will return. Good luck to all the hunters and remember to make safety the top priority.
