Ashley National Forest July 4th Recreation and Safety Tips

Ashley National Forest has recreation and safety tips for the upcoming Fourth of July weekend as thousands of people take to the mountains in Utah’s National Forests. First and foremost, remember there are absolutely NO FIREWORKS allowed on national forest system lands. “Possession and use of fireworks within national forest boundaries is prohibited by law at all times and is strictly enforced.” Due to increasing wildfire activity, visitors are urged to always check fire restrictions at utahfireinfo.gov/fire-restrictions/ before heading out to your destination. While in areas not under fire restrictions, always exercise caution: clear flammable vegetation; have a full bucket of water close to the campfire; have a shovel on hand and available; have an adult present; and never have a campfire when it is windy, hot, and dry. “Please keep campfires in the designated fire pits and make sure they are out cold before leaving them unattended.”
