The professionals with the Ashley National Forest held their annual fire readiness review earlier this month as they prepare for another fire season. The readiness review includes a simulation involving a wildland fire as well as an emergency situation. “The simulation had both medical helicopters and an ambulance respond to an incident within an incident,” shares the announcement. “The fire simulation was a great learning experience for our fire resources. They were challenged to think outside the box and they all left the simulation feeling more confident towards the upcoming fire season.” Forest personnel emphasized that they appreciate the state and county resources being a part of the readiness review, and their gratitude for hands-on training opportunities for their employees.
