Ashley National Forest has announced that the Taylor Mountain Road is now open to Kaler Hollow and Iron Springs. There are still some spots with snow and roads may be soft. You can take Forest Service Road 044 up Taylor Mountain to Kaler Hollow then Forest Service Road 018 over to Iron Springs and eventually Highway 191. Remember: If taking your camper up on the mountain you must occupy it the first night and once every 72 hours after that. Forest Service is asking people to only occupy sites when you can be present to enjoy them and provide the opportunity to camp in premier locations to everyone. The stay limit on the Ashley National Forest is 16 days in one spot and then you must move a minimum of 5 road miles and not return to the original site for 30 days.
