Villa Rehab Residents Enjoy Parking Lot Fishing
By Kristin Forbis, May 13, 2022
Whether old, young, or somewhere in between, there’s nothing quite like the thrill of catching a fish. While the residents of Villa Rehab Center in Roosevelt can’t easily go fishing on local waterbodies, the Division of Wildlife Resources and Uintah Basin Healthcare partnered to bring the fishing to them on Wednesday for a fun day of reliving memories and making new ones. To make this dream come true, the fire department filled a donated horse trough in the Rehab Center’s parking lot that was then filled with fish. Dozens of senior citizens enjoyed the chance to venture into the parking lot for some fishing. DWR Conservation Outreach Manager Tonya Kieffer-Selby said that it was an awesome and exhilarating experience for all.
