Community to Line Streets Following Vernal PD Cpl. Davis Funeral Services

Beginning at noon this Saturday, community members are invited to line the route of the funeral procession for Cpl. Troy Davis following the funeral service at the Uintah Conference Center. The route will begin at the Uintah County Conference Center and proceed West on 100 South to 500 West. From there they will proceed North to 500 North, and then travel West on Highway 121 (Maeser Highway) to the Tridell Cemetery. Cpl. Davis died unexpectedly on Monday near Red Fleet Reservoir after suffering a medical event while mountain biking with his family, friends, and members of the Uintah High School mountain biking team. Uintah County Sheriff’s Office shared the following in a tribute on Thursday: Troy has been with the Vernal City Police Department for over two decades and has served as a school resource officer for many years. Troy’s wife, Mariel, has been with the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office for over six years and has been in public safety for over 20 years. His death is a devastating loss to his family, the entire law enforcement family in the basin, and to our community. Every capacity he ever served in, both personally and professionally, he did it well.  Thank you Troy for your example and professionalism. You will be missed.
