Moffat and Routt County in Colorado will see the installation of fourteen solar panel systems known as solar arrays at governmental agencies starting this spring. This project is funded by a $2.1 million dollar grant from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs Energy Impact Fund as part of a regional solar project. According to a story in the Steamboat Pilot and Today, the grant will help fund the installation of solar arrays across Routt and Moffat counties, including in Steamboat Springs, Hayden, Oak Creek, Yampa and Craig. The projects vary in cost from $63,500 to nearly $900,000 and are anticipated to be completed in a year. Water and wastewater treatment plants in Craig and Hayden, the sewer treatment plant in Yampa, the Moffat County High School campus, the transit operations center in Steamboat and the Yampa Valley Regional Airport are all part of the regional project.
