Uintah County Heritage Museum Presents Expanding Horizons Art Show
By Kristin Forbis, Jan 13, 2021
Uintah County Heritage Museum has recently opened their new art exhibit for the Basin. The display is entitled Expanding Horizons and features Utah plein air artists. What is plein air art? It is about getting out into nature and painting or drawing landscapes. It has been a common practice in art for centuries but was made into an art form by the French Impressionists, which is where the term to paint “en plein air” comes from. Utah has some beautiful landscapes and this exhibit, curated by Shari Lyon, highlights some of the best plein air artists in Utah. Come explore familiar surroundings through the eyes of these artists at the Uintah County Heritage Museum.
