Vernal Chamber Quarterly Outstanding Public Service Award: Mike Wilkins

The Uintah County Clerk Auditor was recognized on Tuesday at the Vernal Chamber luncheon for his years of service to the community. The Chamber’s Public Relations Committee presented Mike Wilkins with the Quarterly Outstanding Public Service Award. Wilkins is a lifelong resident of Uintah County. He went to work for Uintah County Auditor Amy Pope in 1987 and in 1990 he took the position of the Uintah County Chief Deputy Clerk/Auditor,. He held that position until he was elected as the Uintah County Clerk/Auditor in 2002, a position he has remained in and is currently serving in his fifth term. Wilkins has served on many committees over the years and was selected as the County Auditor of the Year in Utah in 2007 and 2008 and the Clerk of the Year in 2008. His service also extended to religious service as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in raising a family with his wife Brenda.
