The Hotel Vernal Haunt succeeded in scaring up money for local charities even while following social distance and safety recommendations. The Hotel Vernal Haunt announced on Monday the donation of $30,000 to three local charities from the 2020 season proceeds. Event organizer Quinn Bennion shares that the Dry Fork Flag Project will receive $7,000, A Chance to Dance is receiving $8,000 and Westyn’s Vision (accessible playground) is receiving $15,000. “The Haunt committee is pleased to provide a scary good time as well as contribute to the local charity causes,” shares Bennion. “The event was organized by community volunteers and moved outside to Remember the Maine Park. The laser light show and Haunt Walk were new this year and were very popular. Thanks to the wonderful sponsors for making the event possible.” The Haunt welcomed over 4,000 guests this year. The Haunt committee hopes to be back at the Hotel next year.
