Congressman Bishop Receives Appointment to Work on NDAA One Last Time

Congressman Rob Bishop’s time in office will soon come to a close but not before he assumes an important appointment one last time. House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy appointed Bishop as a conferee to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). “I am pleased to work on this bill as a conferee,” shares Bishop. “The House version has significant provisions important to Hill Air Force Base and the civilian workforce. I want to make sure they are in the final version.” McCarthy in a statement made it clear why Bishop was chosen. “He has been an incredible asset to our conference and the American people,” says McCarthy. “He possesses an acute understanding of our country’s national security challenges, and through his work on the House Armed Services Committee, Subcommittee on Readiness, he has gained an understanding of the day-to-day needs of our troops. That is why he was a natural fit to serve on this year’s NDAA conference committee. It saddens me that this will be Rob’s last NDAA, but I also know that his influence will live on in a defense bill that will put our service members and country’s security first.”
