Vernal Rotary Club Still Needing Coat Donations This Week

It's the final days to clean out your closet and donate your coats to the annual Vernal Rotary Club coat drive and this year the need is greater than ever. With the health and economic crisis caused by the pandemic, many families are struggling and the Rotary Club wants to help all in need to get a coat, with kids coats especially in need. Rotarian Carl Dieckmann says they hope to have all donations by Wednesday, October 21st so they can go through them, clean them, and have them organized for Saturday’s event. Dieckmann also explains that this year’s event where people can come get free coats will take extra precautions due to COVID-19. The pick up place will be the Vernal Christian Church on Saturday, October 24th from 10am to 2pm. Those coming for coats will arrive, write down what sizes of coats are needed and the volunteers will go gather the items and bring them to you. For those that want to help but do not have coats to donate, reach out to Carl at 435-621-4004 to set up a monetary or other form of donation. Kids coats are especially needed this year. Please drop off coat donations at one of the designated drop off locations which include: Basin Flood & Fire, Brian K. Gorum State Farm, Davis Food and Drug in Vernal, and the Vernal Christian Church.
