CARES Act 2nd Round and Shops in Utah Grant

The joint effort and grant program of Uintah County, Vernal City, Naples City and Ballard City has received a second round of CARES Act funds to help struggling businesses. The first round resulted in $2.1 million dollars granted to over 250 businesses in the Uintah County area but it's time again to take advantage of these opportunities. The second round of the Shop in Utah grant is available starting this week. “We really need the community to apply for this grant,” shares Vernal Chamber Director Joel Brown. To qualify for the Shop In Utah grant, an organization must be negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and offer a discount to customers. The adjustments to this program now features three tiers. Revenue decline of 50% or more: Grant is up to 75% of revenue decline. Revenue decline of at least 25% and less than 50%: Grant is up to 50% of revenue decline. Revenue decline under 25%: Grant is up to 25% of revenue decline. The adjustments do not apply to previous recipients of the Shop In Utah grant but if additional funds are desired, a new application is needed with grant tier levels placed on the new funds.
