Local Utah Highway Patrol is urging Basin families to be prepared for safe travels during the Thanksgiving holiday. “Everyone check the air pressure in their tires for safety and prepare for cold weather emergencies,” shares UHP Sgt. Kellie Oaks. “Be sure to buckle up and know the Vernal UHP wishes all a safe and happy Thanksgiving!” This holiday is projected to be one of the busiest Thanksgivings for family travel in over a decade. AAA estimates that 50.9 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this Thanksgiving making it the highest travel volume since 2005 with 1.6 million more people hitting the nation’s roads, skies and rails compared to last year. Be sure and make safety a top priority wherever this holiday weekend takes you.
