Vernal City residents interested in applying for the vacant City Council seat, listen up: Those applying must submit a letter of interest that can be hand delivered, mailed, or emailed to Vernal City Recorder Roxanne Behunin. Candidate interviews will be held during the Vernal City Council meeting on January 19th where regular business will be handled first with the interviews to follow. The City Council will then vote to fill the vacant seat after the interviews. “The letter of interest should include why they want to be a council member, goals, background, education and experience that prepared them for the position,” explains Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion. Every candidate must be a US Citizen, registered to vote within Vernal City, and have lived in the City for at least one year. The deadline to apply for the vacant seat is Thursday, January 13th at 4pm.
