It’s been another successful year of connecting kids with their local watershed through the Trout in the Classroom program. In the month of January, schools across Utah were chosen as the homes for aquariums to house trout eggs for students to watch hatch and grow. The youth watched for themselves the beginning stages of the life cycle of trout as they learned about the watershed homes the trout go to next. Every spring, the fish are released into ponds and rivers in the area they were housed making for an exciting experience for the students. Last week, fish were released from local classrooms into local ponds making for yet another successful year for the Trout in the Classroom program.
