All the best BBQ goodies will be served for a very good cause this Sunday at the Annual Shrine & Masonic Charity BBQ. This is the event’s 66th anniversary. “All the money goes to Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake City so kids from the Basin can get world class medical treatment for free,” shares charity event organizer Brian Gorum. “If they can’t take care of their needs here at that hospital then we fly them to any hospital in the world to take care of them.” There are 22 Shriners hospitals and the organization has been around for over 100 years. Gorum says just last week he worked on a referral for a local child needing care at Shriners Hospital as just one example of kids here in the Basin that use it. The charity BBQ is at the Colton Pavilion from noon to 5pm this Sunday. The cost is $10 a plate. Kids 8 and under eat free.
