Santa’s Community Effort in Vernal has their Angel Trees out and ready for community members to take a tag to shop for a local child who otherwise would not have much on Christmas morning. Brian Gorum of the Vernal Rotary Club has been involved in this great cause since Rotary Club took over Santa’s Community Effort about 15 years ago and it is one of his favorite things to be a part of all year long. “Giving kids the joy of Christmas is just special,” shares Gorum. “The economy is hard and for families that don’t have much it is a tough time of year. That’s what we are here for.” The Angel Trees, located at Davis Food and Drug and Walmart, have tags on them with information of a specific child and what they like and are hoping for on Christmas. Community members can choose a tag, shop for the child, and drop off their donations at Davis Food and Drug. Gorum says this is one of the best times to help children experience the joy of giving. If you take a tag be sure to get your gift dropped off at Davis Food and Drug by December 14th.
