TriCounty Health Department continues to keep the Uintah Basin informed on the latest with the COVID-19 pandemic through their website and on Facebook. As of the state’s April 6th report, the total case count in the state of Utah is 1,675 with 138 of those being hospitalized and resulting in 13 deaths in the state. TriCounty Health District now reports 3 cases, among the lowest in the state, and local agencies are informing all of the new CDC recommendation to use cloth face coverings while in public. The use of face coverings is aimed at slowing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This will help protect others from those that do not know they have the virus. Previously encouraged social distancing recommendations also remain in place. This is a voluntary public health measure that can be easily followed using low cost common materials in your own home. Cloth face coverings should include multiple layers of fabric, allow for breathing without restriction, and be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to the shape. Simple instructions on how to make your own face covering can be found at cdc.gov/coronavirus. The TriCounty Health Department Facebook page also has information and links for those needing help.
