Her time on earth was far too short but that hasn’t stopped a special baby girl from making a mighty impact on many lives. Pyper Joon Meeks was known for the sparkle in her eye and sweet smile that won over the hearts of all. Nicknamed ‘Dancin’ Joonie’, Pyper passed away at 9 months old, leaving a hole in many hearts but out of those wounds Pyper has inspired something very special. While grieving the devastating loss, Greg and Lorie Meeks felt inspired to consider something totally unexpected: to begin the process of having another baby, this time through surrogacy. Today Pyper would have turned 1 year old and her friends and family are inviting the entire community to join them for Joonie’s 1st birthday celebration at the Western Park. Not only is the flamingo themed celebration a chance to celebrate and remember little Pyper Joon, it is also a fundraiser in support of the Meeks surrogacy journey. All are invited to Joonie’s 1st birthday party tonight, Thursday, September 19th, from 6 to 8pm at the Western Park. There will be dinner, games, and raffles. Find the ‘1st Annual Birthday Party Fundraiser’ event page on Facebook or email flamingosforjoonie@gmail.com for more information.
