National Influenza Vaccination Week has wrapped up but it’s not too late to get the flu shot for you or your loved ones. Uintah Basin Healthcare shares that the typical flu season runs October through May and a yearly flu vaccine is recommended for everyone 6 months old and older in order to protect against the flu. They also explain that the “flu shot” is an inactivated vaccine that is given with a needle, usually in the arm. TriCounty Health Department is also wanting the public to know that there are options to get the flu vaccine. If an individual has no insurance or is under insured there is a chance that TriCounty Health Department can help. The best way to know is to contact TriCounty Health Department. If in Vernal, call 435-247-1177 and if in Roosevelt, call 435-722-6300.
