Any dog can be a dog show dog! That has been the focus of 9-year-old Gracey McKee as she and her father have taken on the challenge of organizing the Uintah County Fair Dog Show coming up on August 19th. The pair had been keeping an eye out for information on this year’s dog show as Gracey and her Collie named ‘Luna’ were eager to sign up. About a month ago they learned that the dog show had not come together for the 2023 fair. They offered to take it on and now are ready for all the dogs in Uintah County and their owners of all ages to show up. They have arranged for some great local judges but Gracey and her dad Jessy McKee want to make it clear that all dogs really are welcome. “If your dog is good at catching a ball or doing a trick, bring them down!” says Jessy. This can be even little tricks like if a dog is good at giving their owner a kiss or wagging their tail, adds Gracey. Any dog has a chance to win Best In Show and then there are also prizes for categories like Best Costume, Best Trick, Agility, and more. There will be $2000 dollars worth of prizes in cash and sponsored gifts and a Child Class for youth ages 11 and under and an Adult Class for those 12 and older. The cost is $5 dollars per dog and registration is this Saturday at 8am at the Western Park Amphitheater with the show starting at 9am. Visit www.UintahCountyFair.com for more information.
