Tonight is the night! The final 4 contestants are competing in the finale of this year’s Alive After 5 competition at the Uintah County Library park. Event organizer Autumn Hancock with Evans Family Media says this has been an amazing year for the event in its 21st year as the biggest singing contest in the Uintah Basin. “The reason Alive After 5 was started was to help aspiring singers step outside of their box,” shares Hancock. “That is why we do a different theme each week, to help them grow as artists and try songs they wouldn’t typically sing.” This year had the most entries they’ve ever had in the event which was narrowed down to 14 for week 1 and audience votes have brought it to the top 4 in tonight’s finale. “I think it’s the best year we’ve ever had,” says Hancock. “Every vocalist has been so good and so entertaining. I think the talent is just getting better and better in the Basin and this year did not disappoint. Honestly this year even just making the competition was a big deal because we had so many entries.” Tonight is the only night there will be judges there and the results come down to a score based 50% on audience votes and 50% on judges’ votes. The top 4 competing in tonight’s finale are Lucy Horrocks, Jordyn Judd, Aidyn Sharp, and Johnny Sanabria. Bring your lawn chairs and be part of the excitement! Tonight is also the culmination for this summer’s Fishing With The Fox and all drawings and grand prizes will be announced during the event.
