Duchesne County athletes enjoyed a thrill last week of epic proportions. On, Wednesday, January 3rd, the Altamont Longhorn Girls and Boys Basketball teams traveled to the Vivint Smart Home Arena, home of the Utah Jazz, to play Intermountain Christian School. “I’ve always dreamed of standing on the court but instead I got to play on the court,” shared Lady Longhorns senior Sarah Moore. “It was the most fun game I have ever played.” Leading scorer for the Altamont boys team, Riley Braman, agreed, saying it was “cool to be able to play on the same floor that NBA stars play on.” The Girls Varsity game ended with a Longhorn win of 34-22. Emery Maxfield was the high scorer for Altamont with 14 points. Following the girls, the boys team played as well. Riley Braman scored 21 points for the game, which was a loss of 49-44 for the Longhorns.
