A new federal program is now being offered in the Uintah Basin and there are locals able and ready to help those interested. The Affordable Connectivity Program helps low-income families afford the cost of having internet service in their home and also offers a one time discount on a computer purchased through a participating provider. Households that have a household income at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines qualify. Households with a member that participates in a list of assistance programs, including but not limited to SNAP, Medicaid, Lifeline, or free and reduced school lunch also qualify. Applications can be filled out at www.GetInternet.gov. The local Affordable Connectivity Program Outreach Assistant is through the USU Extension Office and can be reached at 435-781-5452.
