It was announced on December 4th that according to new guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention the Utah Department of Health and TriCounty Health Department have reduced the 14-day quarantine period for anyone exposed to COVID-19. There are two options, quarantine can end after 10 days if no symptoms are reported OR end quarantine after seven days if an individual tests negative and reports no symptoms. Household contacts are NOT eligible for the 7-day test and return option. In the Uintah School District, anyone exposed in school, whether it was considered low risk or high risk, can receive a free rapid test from the district on Day 7 of quarantine. Those exposed outside of school are responsible for obtaining test results through their healthcare provider on Day 7 and presenting negative results to return to school.
